ASSOCIATE TRANSPORTATION ENGINEER #6341 - Minneapolis, Minnesota

Iteris is a consulting firm specializing in traffic engineering, transportation planning and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).  Our knowledge enables us to design and implement transportation solutions that help public agencies reduce traffic congestion, increase safety, enhance transit use and provide greater access to traveler information. Our growing office in downtown Minneapolis has an opportunity for an Associate Transportation Engineer to join our team.
 
This position will serve as Project Manager/Assistant Project Manager/Task Leader/Project Engineer on a wide range of transportation planning, traffic engineering, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), planning, design and deployment projects, depending on specific qualifications. We are seeking an individual to assist Principal and Senior staff with traffic operations and safety analyses, traffic simulation, travel demand forecasting, a variety of traffic and ITS design tasks,  spreadsheets, fieldwork, report and document preparation, graphics, research, and client contact as well as overall management of a number of projects. Other responsibilities include business development and proposal preparation activities, presentations and attendance at public meetings and representation at conferences and events.  We’re seeking a self-starter who requires minimal supervision.

Qualifications Required:

• Bachelors Degree
  

• Minimum 5 years experience in the transportation engineering industry
  

• PE or other certification
  

• At least 2 years experience in one or more technical areas including traffic engineering, ITS, traffic signal system design, transportation planning
  

• Good working knowledge of traffic engineering software (i.e. Synchro, Microstation, TransCAD, etc.)
  

Qualifications Desired:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  

• Business development, marketing and client relations experience
