Midwestern District has been considered for years as a weak district / strong section organization. The 2004 Board of Direction took action and a by-laws change was approved to make a significant change in governance to transition to elective officers. This change has now been in place for four years, and the first complete set of officers elected to the Board by the entire membership will take office on January 1, 2009. The District is working to implement a strategic plan to continue to strengthen and compliment the activities of the District and the Sections. Contact one of the officers to learn more and get active.
As of November 2009, there were a total of 1811 ITE international members in the Midwestern District (formerly know as District 4) as follows: 436 in Illinois; 677 in MOVITE; 382 in NCITE; and 316 members in the Wisconsin Section. These figures include all international members, students, affiliates, and esteemed colleagues.
The Midwestern District meets once per year typically in June. Future MWITE District Annual Meeting sites will be hosted by:
2010 – NCITE Section to be held in Minneapolis at the The Depot Hotel
